Muhammad Bilal

Bilal co-founded Wellspring with Farooq with the mutual aim of creating a global accounting and advisory hub for businesses from all regions, ethnicity and backgrounds. He believes that by serving a multitude of regions, in addition to providing much needed financial transparency to businesses and their owners, cross-cultural harmony and mutual respect can be fostered which is much needed in these times.
My Story
Bilal is an Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW) as well as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). With penchant for learning new technologies and having an aim to combine finance and information technology, Bilal is also a certified Data Analyst from Google. SQL and Python learning are his current subjects with aim to divulge in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Bilal, like Farooq, started his career with EY and went to become Manager within 5 years of his joining. Bilal helped EY Pakistan implement various technologies locally allowing the assurance and audit procedures to be applied not only sufficiently and appropriately but also proactively allowing better insight into clients.

After serving EY for 7 years, Bilal joined one of the largest automotive groups in South Asia where he helped them automate their manual processes as well as implementing Oracle-derived Enterprise Resource Planning System. From thereon, he moved on to FMCG and manufacturing sector and finally landed in tech startups. He quickly identified the problems with the core definition of a tech startup: that an amazing idea alone cannot guarantee a successful business. Robust control mechanism and financial oversight combined with effective leadership and team management is required to realize the dream and vision of founders / investors.

He applied this idea to a few startups and helped them not only increase their GMV / customer base but also achieve profitability through cost-control, better and timely financial visibility, and instilling a sense of ownership and loyalty among the company employees. This is when Bilal and Farooq had the idea to create Wellspring and apply this successful formula to businesses around the world.
